Glossary

Yield

The income from an investment, usually stated as a percentage of the value of the investment.

Equity Markets

Equity markets are where shares in companies are bought and sold. Buying a share means owning part of a company and benefiting if it grows or pays dividends.

Bonds

Bonds are loans investors make to governments or companies. In return, investors receive interest payments and get their money back at a future date.

Fixed Income

Fixed income refers to investments that aim to provide regular, predictable income, usually through interest payments. Common fixed income investments include bonds and other types of debt.
