Over 25 years’ financial services experience

Ian is our Co-Head of Private Clients and leads our private client team. He has more than 25 years’ financial services experience and has been managing discretionary portfolios for 24 years. Before joining Marlborough in August 2026, Ian spent over 16 years at Rathbones, where he was an Investment Director looking after charities, trusts, SIPPs and personal portfolios. Prior to that, he spent nine years as a private client portfolio manager at HSBC, where he was responsible for more than £200m of assets in discretionary mandates. Ian is a CFA Charterholder.
